No they haven't.  Besides, I've been here right along.  I know what
the reality was and it was nothing like you claim at all.

When did you EVER have a point, Ian?

Well here is the thread and the message.

He appears to have done it again to someone else.

Message 342.

I must say that when I first read the message I did not realize that
Rand had a track record. Had I, I would have come to different
conclusions. The fact of the matter is that just before that message I
was having a conversation with someone of Middle Eastern origin. We
were talking in essence about victimless crimes in general. The age of
consent came up. I suggested it should be 12. You need to have some
limit but I basically do not believe that the behaviour of teenagers
should be criminalized. Moreover the BMA advocates cervical cancer
vaccination at about that age, having laws effectively means less
medical supervision.

My first thought was that he had got access to personal conversations,
possibly though a Middle East desk. To me the personality of Rand is
something to fantasise about! Hs real character is even more peculiar
than a Middle East desk.

BTW the Arab street is quite interesting. The Arabs are not in fact
moving towards fundamentalism as individuals. They are constantly
working out ways in which they can "buck the system". A survey,
shortly to come out was discussed on the radio and it demonstrates
that political attitudes do not correlate with how devout one is. It
is a political matter.
