Every modern depression, recession, business panic and collapse was
preceded by military action in the modern age - from the Civil War
forward.

The Great Depression of the '30's wasn't.

Yes it was This is a recent finding by Economic historians who are
able to go into greater depth than before. Milton Friedman's analysis
citing the importance of monetary forces is incomplete. The
underlying cause of monetary weakness was the destruction of capital
in Europe and the inability of monetary systems of that time to
accomodate to that destruction.
