look at the number of failed mars missions:( so we have a excellent
design thats robust and seemingly lasts forever, lots of areas of
interest like where water is suspected to have caused landslides, and
yet we send all one off missions risking yet more failures.
when we could send more at a realtively low cost, since engineering is
complete, and they could be built on a production line basis.
heck it might be possible to use this design for other planets or
moons.......
yet been there done that attitude prevails.
and recruiting clooege students as controllers would boost so much.
its the better faster cheaper yet no one is interested:(
