It's doubtful that they need help, or even wanted help.

Sci-Fi stories (both TV series and books) are that way because THAT is
what 'they' want the viewers to see, not due incompetence. The writers
nor their editors are not incompetent, in the contrary it's quite
scary to find out the true motives of ALL Sci-Fi TV series, and even
non Sci-Fi TV series.

Really, how do you explain that "Star Trek: Enterprise" even managed
to get a fourth season?

Or even the name "Enterprise" got stuck as the name of OV-101?

It's all propaganda.

NX-02 being named "Columbia" in "Star Trek: Enterprise" is also a
propaganda.
