the media and the entertainment bidness are fickle. As long as you're the
New Thing (as Kerry was during the primaries), they love you. As soon as you
start getting a little stale (as Kerry id now), then they turn on you adn
devour you while there's a little meat left on the bone.

After Bush's approval rating go back up during the GOP convention (the
ratings of the nominee of whatever convention is going on always gets a
ratings and PR boost), then Kerry will get a little bit more sympathetic
coverage again.

These things follow a very definite pattern.
