Most of the places I work, video conferencing is not an option. Even if they
had the equipment and stable power, the bandwidth isn't anywhere near
available.
Not to mention that a lot of travel is to do things and to see things, not
just to sit around a table and kibbutz.
And of course there's recreational travel.
