Why not? There are companies that still make extremely large equipment that
is very similar. You wouldn't make an exact copy anyway. You'd make one to
fit the same overall envelope with the same (or larger) load carrying
capacity, but let the companies bidding decide what components to use for
the motors, hydraulics, and etc.
