I think his point is that if it wasnt for NASA, we would have none
of those things, so we must thank NASA for them.

The guy probably also thinks that if it wasnt for Einstein, nobody
would have discovered relativity, that if it wasnt for Clyde Tombaugh
we still wouldnt know of the existence of Pluto, and that if it wasnt
for Bell, the telephone wouldnt have been invented yet.
