There are real differences between Republicans and Democrats. My
personal view is that there should have been higher taxes --- using a
10% national sales tax --- with the social security administration
fully paid up, and possibly increased benefits, along with significant
increases in experimental technology development in all areas.
Technology not only wins wars it is what beefs the economy more than
any other factor. Compare a high technology nation, per capita, with
any 3rd world country. No comparison. Technology works. We need to
push technology to the maximum.

It is my genuine belief that Global Warming is both an extremely
serious phenomena and that it is caused 'solely' by Pacific Rim
Activity. Human interference, freon, automobile exhaust, and the like,
is insignificant.
Enormous heat is being added to the Earth's surface by underwater lava
flows and hot ocean floor bottoms in the Pacific Ocean. It has melted
a good deal of the North Polar Ice Cap in the Pacific Ocean area, while
the North Atlantic portion of the Ice Cap remains virtually the same as
in the last several decades.
For whatever reason, the magnetic North Pole is moving very rapidly
toward Sibera. It, furthermore, appears to be taking the arctic cold
and glaciers with it. During the summer, however, this same Siberia is
suffering from melted permafrost, releasing huge quantities of menthane
gas into the atmosphere. Yes, far more menthane than the menthane
released by all the toilets on Earth.
The weather is changing, with jet streams touching ground in the U.S.
and category 5 hurricanes becoming commonplace. The Gulf Current is
receding in the Atlantic Ocean, and frogs are dying because of
increased fungus in the Amazon Jungle. The summer heat in Chicago
killed hundreds while a giant wave caused by the Pacific Rim
instability killed thousands in SouthEast Asia.
Northern Europe has had early January temperatures in the -33 degree F.
range. Japan has 13 foot high snow drifts. So, yes, something big is
going down. Mankind has to take emergency action . . . NOW! Not whip
itself for a little self indulgence with fossil fuels.
What kind of emergency action?
Begin putting shopping centers, condominiums, government buildings,
undergound. Underground provides near perfect insulation and
protection. Today's earth moving equipment can do it cheaply.
Begin building greenhouses in areas afflicted with arctic cold, big
greenhouses capable of providing large produce harvests.
Begin building homes underground, or in the form of concrete domes
capable of withstanding category 5 hurricanes.
Begin building nuclear power plants --- big time --- so there is plenty
of electricity to meet increased demands caused by changing weather
patterns.
Begin adding a lot of insulation to existing homes and strengthening
them to meet possible hurricane force winds.
Begin putting the power grid underground where it will be safe from
hurricane and freezing weather. Ditto with the telephone lines.
Since our weather seems to be more extreme, both summer and winter, a/c
units should be upgraded or installed to meet the anticipated demand,
not wait until people drop dead.
We have go to take the bull by the horns. We have to act now for the
fully expected changes that are NOW beginning to happen to our planet.
And, yes, it all is . . . amazing, simply amazing!
