Re: Water Fuel Rocket Science

Interesting, but not realistic. Development of closed life support
systems capable of maintaining the special requirements for human's
long term is a rather interesting problem, and not quite easily solved
by milkshakes, and commercial work out equipment. The human
cardiovascular system does not easily adjust to the redistribution of
fluids that occurs in microgravity, an example of this are the many
lower body negative pressure devices we subject the astronauts to for
years. No device or vehicle has adequately demonstrated the capability
of providing humans with the same gravitational effects felt on earth.
In addition there are many unknown effects on a human body that is
subjected to a constantly rotating environment, some of which may be
more detrimental or magnify existing problems such as the equilibrium
effects that cause space sickness.

A mild constant thrust of ion engines shouldn't cause problems. But the
rotating cylinder might cause space sickness and involves extra weight
and complexity to the vehicle besides.

Recommend that it is best to keep things as much the same as life on
Earth as possible. Frozen steaks and vegetables, fresh milk, chocolate
cake. An interplanetary waverider with a 250,000 pound cargo capacity
should enable thousands of pounds of water and food to be onboard for
the Astronauts.

Once Astronauts are over their space sickness, most find weightlessness
to be a pleasant experience. While continuing research on the medical
affects of weightlessness are recommended, enough is already known to
go ahead with Space Exploration.
