Re: Tank has water entrapped in foam from Katrina

OK, since the shuttle can spend a large amount of time on the pad,
exposed to the rain and minor hurricanes, how it is that water leaking
from a roof in the factory would cause a problem ?

Do they spray a waterproofing coat onto the tanks after the foam has
been applied, and this had not been done at the factory at the time of
Katrina ?

If the coating had not been applied, wouldn't the workers have taken
steps to dry the foam before applying that coat and shipping the tank ?

If the coating had been applied, then why would rain be a problem ?

Was this particular tank naked to the metal at the time of Katrina, or
did it already have some foam on it ?
