Many of these aren't used anymore due to political reasons but this
looks like a very complete list of emergency and alternate landing
sites. Requires Google Earth

When I viewed the Florida End-Of-Mission landing site, I noticed a
very large building nearby. I take it that that's the Shuttle
processing and storage facility?
There's several large buildings in the complex, but the largest is the
Vehicle Assembly Building. That's where the orbiter, external tank, and
solid rocket boosters are stacked for launch. The orbiters are stored and
processed in the Orbiter Processing Facilities. There are three of them,
two west of the VAB and one northwest of it.
And of the 2 launch sites just east
and north-east (connected with the double-lane white road), which one
is the launch site used for the Shuttle? I can see a water-tower to
the NE of both sites.
Both of those are shuttle pads, 39A and 39B.
And where is the launch control building? Not
too close by, I hope!
The Launch Control Center is on the southeast side of the VAB, three-and-a-
fraction miles from both pads.
