from Orlando to KSC. Don't forget that the best (only?) route there
includes toll rodes

Not the only. From the airport, you can go up Semoran to Colonial
(SR-50) and east to Titusville. More traffic, but the toll booths on
528 around the airport can be chaos, too.

I still think driving from Miami is the way to go. Avoid the airport
logjam and be on your own timetable.
