The t-test is the simplest form of ANOVA.
It is exactly the same test as the F in a one-factor ANOVA
with 2 groups. Regression is another form of ANOVA,
since that stands for 'analysis of variance' -- meaning, in
other words, an analysis that relies on those sums of squares.

A better design will use varying measures of alcohol, including
'non', with the assignment for each person made randomly;
and look for a trend that shows decreased performance with
more alcohol. A dose-related effect is more persuasive than a
single effect. If the folks can improve on the test by practicing,
your no-control design might find nothing at all, or even an
improvement.
It should be fairly simple to compute the change scores for each
person, and then perform a regression using 'dose'.

That would be a simple repeated measures analysis, looking for
an effect of 'time' or circumstance. It is fine if you are willing to
bet that there is no learning or practice effect.

Hope this helps.
