Hello,
1. I've done a discriminant analysis with the software STATISTICA. Now
I'd like to classify new cases based on the analysis. How can I do this
with STATISTICA? Unfortunately the help file wasn't a help.
2. In the on-line manual
http://www.statsoft.com/textbook/stdiscan.html#classification
under "Posterior classification probabilities"
one can read:
"Using the Mahalanobis distances to do the classification, we can now
derive probabilities. The probability that a case belongs to a
particular group is basically proportional to the Mahalanobis distance
from that group centroid."
How is this probability computed?
Thanks, Torsten
