log(log(x)) scales?

Hi,

I am trying to make an extreme values plot for hydrological data
(annual maximum series for rainfall depth), and require an x-axis in
terms of log(log(x)) while the y-axis must remain linear. I am having a
great deal of trouble making this type of plot, and was wondering if
anyone could let me know how to do it?

I've been trying to do it in Minitab, though also have access to
Matlab, Maple, and R. However, I am not very good with any of these
pieces of software.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Wojciech Gryc
