MANOVA with post hoc for categorical data
Hello - I really really really need help.
I have dependent variables which are categorised as present (1) or
absent (0) for a selection of food groups (N = 14) in the diet of a
population of badgers (n = 686). My independent variables are seasons
Winter (100) Spring (200) Summer (300) and Autumn (400) as coded for
SPSS. I need to test for seasonal variation. If I use Chi-Squared
test it is debatable whether a series of repeated tests of seasonal
variation in diet composition are statistically independent (i.e. the
risk of error is inflated). I was thinking I might be able to use
MANOVA with a post hoc test Bonferroni or LSD. Is this right? Can I
use MANOVA when my data is categorical?
Please help
.
