Re: help to choose stat analysis

Hi,

I have a following problem.

< SNIP >

Data is not normaly distributed and not linear.

NEITHER is necessary in doing a regression (also known as a linear
model) .

Some people so far suggested ordered probit or loglinear analysis if I
divide parameters or delays into groups.

Those people are like many Quacks in this group. They don't
know WHAT needs to be normal and what doesn't and what
needs to be linear and what doesn't.

Any other suggestions?

Take a course in regression from a knowledgeable source before
trying to butcher the method.

That is the best and the most realistic suggestion I can seriously
give.

Asking questions in newsgroups is NOT the way to learn how to
do regression or model fitting problems.

There are too many malpractice posters all too eager to give their
erroneous advice. Richard Ulrich and Greg Heath to name just
two of the most blatent Quacks in regression. There are others.

I've never done anything with non-parametric
data so I really could use all the help I can get!

Thanks in advance!
