Hi there I need some help with some stats work using SPSS.
The experiment I'm conducting uses 95 participants, 32 in Group 1; 32
in group 2 and 31 in group 3.
Firstly ALL participants complete a 19 item questionnaire (responses
for scale are parametric), participants are then allocated into the
above mentioned groups (randomly) and each read a different passage of
text.
On completing the text all participants then go on to complete a
manipulation check (responses are not parametric) and 6 other scales
(all scale responses are parametric) ranging from 2 - 11 items per
scale.
What I am trying to determine is whether there is a main/interaction
effect either as a result of the passage of text OR from the initial
19 item questionnaire on the subsequent 6 other scales.
I have already conducted part of the analysis but just wanted to see
how other people would approach this task. Any help is much
appreciated.
So, as I understand, you are trying to determine if the *passage* had
an affect on any differences received from the post-passage set of
questions? If so, you might simply test to see if any response
difference are found (e.g., a test of means). BTY, how did your
Reliability Analysis come out?
I can't see the inclusion of the pre-set of questions has on your
hypothesis (if my understanding is correct) since all saw these?
.
