It's the same thing. Take this part of the probabilty statement:
x-1.96*sd< u < x+1.96*sd
Subtract x from the three terms:
-1.96*sd< u-x < +1.96*sd
Subtract u from the three terms:
-u-1.96*sd< -x < -u+1.96*sd
Multiply by -1 (note inequality reverses):
u+1.96*sd > x > u-1.96*sd
