Status of SEM in Stat education

Have courses in SEM become part of the curriculum in either Statistics
or Biostat? Or is this topic still found only in Psychology and other
"applied" fields? I'm beginning to see more SES/MSM work in
epidemiology but I'm wondering if it is native or exotic in origin.
