From Osher Doctorow mdoctorow@comcast.net
I noticed today for the first time that the internet has a sample of
book reviews, postings, etc. under my name as keyword "Osher Doctorow"
and so far I've only looked under my Comcast keywords, but already
I see some easily misconstrued selections. It does answer the
question of why one contributor to an "elections" thread on the 2004
election asked me whether I'm a book reviewer. I thought that he was
being facetious. Here are a few points about the statistics.
1. The list of my postings, reviews, articles, etc., is not inaccur-
ate but is also only a very tiny fraction (it covers over 10 pages
in COMCAST) and is not representative as far as I can determine at
present. I was never asked which postings, reviews, articles, etc.
should be included, and I haven't the faintest idea who chose them.
2. Readers who want to know my theories and applications would do
best to look at the last 1-2 years of my contributions to sci.stat.
math and to the references therein, rather than rely on the keywords
"Osher Doctorow" on the internet. This is because, at the age of
65 now, it has taken me something like 10-15 years to get comfort-
able with the internet, which I didn't grow up with. In other words,
I improved as I went along. As a general rule, the earlier my
postings or book reviews on the internet, the worse they were, with
a few exceptions. Since there are so many postings to sci.stat.math,
look especially for those containing the words or abbreviations in
the title: Rare Event(s), Probable Influence, RET, PI, Probable
Causation, Riccati, Logistic, Volterra, Memory, Expansion, Contrac-
tion, Fuzzy Multivalued Logic, FML, Boundary.
