That's basically correct. An ergodic MC starting in any state will
"eventually" be stationary, but that's pretty much the same thing
because the process starts at time -oo and at time 0 the state is
chosen according to the stationary distribution.
We tried to make these concepts clear in STOCHASTIC MODELS IN
OPERATIONS RESEARCH vol. I BY D. Heyman and M. Sobel (now a Dover
paperback).
