Much of what is on Math Forum is in fact an archive of old Usenet
messages, so if you reply to them, they will appear in
news:sci.stat.math or wherever they started.
There may be some interest in reading old Usenet messages
(groups.google.com also provides a usenet archive) but replying to old
messages, especially if you do not quote everything of interest in the
previous threads, will simply confuse everyone else.
You could have tried following Richard Ulrich's advice and look at the
history. Try
<http://groups.google.co.uk/groups?q=%22Math%20Forum%22&group=sci.stat.math&scoring=d&filter=0>
This may break across a line, in which case my apologies
