ordinal logistic regression

Hi all:

what is the main difference between ordinal logistic regression and
multinomial logistic regression?

if I apply both of them should I expect consistent results?
if not, can I report the results of multinomial if it's more appropriate or
consistent with my expectation despite the dependent variable can be
considered ordinal.
