Independence among events is JUST a model: it cannot be proved at all. Its adequacy (or not) is MEASURED by the degree of exactness it show towards experience.
Coin tosses are not independent because are tosses (or flips) but because all experiments agree with this (a priori) supposition.
A model remains credible as long as it is not rejected by the experimental evidence: no one had proved yet that the outcomes of two successive coin tosses (flips) are mutually dependent. In other words: the probability of a outcome is modified by a precedent one. This is just a model, no more, no least. It will be getting rid at the moment it could not be in accordance to the reality. Our UNIVERSE and its laws are REAL, not a coming from a fairyland.
The (mechanical) system - its features - that provides the random events prevails over any mental process we try to ascribe to them: inventing <connective> dependence, for instance.
