As previously mentioned one month ago, here are the stats on usenet
histories (as provided by Google Groups) for posters in the "I'm sure
I'll catch hell for this, but... let's vote reef fish off
sci.stat.math" thread. Please post any corrections in this thread.
The first correction is that you CANNOT vote Reef Fish or anyone
else off -- that's only your wishful thinking.
Even if you find enough of your pals to file FALSE REPORTS of
ABUSE of my postings, you still can't get me off this newsgroup
or even the group in which the false reports were filed!
Try to do something CONSTRUCTIVE -- and as a starter, learn
something about USENET and newsgroups, in which you are
a certified "Clueless Newbie" -- a term used by Netiquette
Guru, the Reverend Bob "Bob" Crispen to describe people just
like you.
Before we get any further, let me ask Chris Chiasson this:
With a LIFE TIME history of THREE threads in sci.stat.math, of
which this is one, and the one you cited "I'm sure I'll catch hell
....",
what have YOU contributed to this group or any other newsgroup?
The "statistics" you showed revealed only these obvious voters:
chris.chiasson@xxxxxxxxx
Chris Chiasson
voted yes
761 messages in 21 groups since Aug 2004
and a LIFE TIME posting history of 3 thread in sci.stat.math, since
2005.
licas_@xxxxxxxxxxx
Luis A. Afonso
voted yes
859 messages in 3 groups since Feb 2005
--------------------------------------------------------------
Why don't you run your tabloid poll on Luis A. Afonso? :-)
Large_Nassau_Grouper@xxxxxxxxx
Reef Fish
didn't vote, but assumed to be no
posting history unavailable*
unavailable to YOU only because you don't know how to look for it.
Google now showed 8440 threads, since 1992, the date I started
using that posting name. I have been posting since 1987.
I can still access the posting info in this group which you seem
unable:
This month's top posters
96 lic...@xxxxxxxxxxx
78 large_nassau_grou...@xxxxxxxxx
All time top posters
1395 large_nassau_grou...@xxxxxxxxx
1192 wpi...@xxxxxxxx
1053 hru...@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
* The message from Google Groups is " This account has been banned
because it violated the Google Groups Terms Of Use." Reef Fish has a
new account, dr_bob_ling@xxxxxxxxx, and has posted 80 messages in 6
groups since May 2006.
Thought you found some dirt on me, didn't you?
Only your THIRD visit to this group too! LOL.
That much is correct, since May 12, since my Large_Nassau_Grouper
account has been TEMPORARILY blocked by Google, for Google
functions, pending investigation pf abuse reports.
I am still posting with that Large_Nassau_Grouper account in the
LISTSERV list EDSTAT-L, and using it for private correspondence
with people who write to that address -- and also about 300 spams
A DAY (because the the years I've used that posting address in
newsgroups, which is a magnet for SPAMS) -- but fortunately
Yahoo has a nice automatic spam filter to put those in a BULK
mailbox -- in a normal week, I get over 1000 of those -- but one
push of the DELETE button and they are all gone.
***I wonder if many low ratings or the abuse reporting feature (under
show options) in Google Groups was what effected the ToU violation
against Reef Fish.
The Google "rating" feature is a farce. Luis A. Afonso can rate
himeslf 5-star. And the rating is available ONLY to those who
read newsgroups FROM GOOGLE -- and the majority of the
readers DON'T.
The Google rating has NOTHING to do with Google's "Abuse report",
which is an entirely separate feature.
I sent an "abuse report" about Afonso, when he was posting "*** YOU"
and other titles in the SUBJECT of the thread, to Google, and
Google merely forwarded it to MSN, his ISP, which did nothing
about it.
The reason my Large_Nassau_Grouper account was blocked was
because I was waging a small war in rec.travel.cruises about one
TRAVEL AGENT named Ray Goldenberg, who places Ads and
spams that group ever since 1995. (You don't see ANY such ads
in this and most other newsgroups because they are strictly
against USENET Guidelines)
All the complainers in that group since 1995 had either been
harrassed or intimidated by him. To date, he has over
18,000 posts in that group, nearly ALL of them SPAMS, and
is the ONLY newsgroup among all newsgroups that tolerate
ADs such as his, because he has built up a clique of OTHER
travel agents supporting him and his ads.
I had already given some DETAILS about this in the post
"Luis A. Afonso is now the TOP POSTER this month"
because my posting number for this month is frozen at 78.
========I wrote ======
By coincidence, my large_nassau_grou...@xxxxxxxxx
posting account was sabbotaged by posters in the
rec.travel.cruises newsgroup for filing FALSE "abuse"
reports to Google, which caused that account to be
blocked from Google use pending investigation. Google
had 10,000+ "abuse" reports on May 13 alone. I know,
because I filed an abuse report myself, on the organizer
of those "false reports of abuse" who injudiciously POSTED
evidence of his own crime, in the same manner some
burglar was caught by the video taken by himself of his
own burglary!
================
The video of his own burglary was this: He URGED his pals
in that newsgroup to "keep hitting that 'ABUSE REPORT'
botton" on my present account, even before I had posted
ANYTHING in that group with the new account.
====== Excerpt of what Ray Goldenberg posted on May 13
But he has now set up a new account to replace his "Large Nassau
Grouper". Recommend you pass the word to tell people to keep hitting the "REPORT ABUSE" button.
It would also be helpful if these reports pointed out to Google that
this is his 2nd account and they had already shitcanned his first one,
as this should help convince them to respond more quickly to
termininating this new account too.
Best regards,
Ray

I went on to say to the sci.stat.math group:

TRUTH is stranger than FICTION.
Luis A. Afonso, you can STOP your POLLUTION of sci.stat.math
group NOW, in your creation of new SUBJECTS just to overtake
the BEAN COUNT, from 51 on May 11, to 86 on May 17.
The noise SUBJECTs you (Alfonso) created today were quite
unnecessary because you had already surpassed RF's 78, which
will probably remain 78 the remainder of this month.
