Mr. Thorpe
Firstly you, with your celebrated mind, attained the uppermost goal that I was directed to you. Congratulations.
But it must be said: if you thought that my mistake in your name was deliberated you are a pitying guy, indeed.
Secondly I supposed that Sci Stat Math is, in general, an open forum and, in consequence, all Readers expected to be asked from all the remained ones.
Thirdly I think that I was said that was IMO. My idea is that the Sample Space (S) merely lists all the possible outputs of a random trial and have any *analytical* content (concerning the events). Then, to have a Probability Space, we must ascribe to each *subset* of S (which is the *event*) the probability of its occurrence.
Formally
A triple (S, s , P) on the domain S where P is a measure of the subset s.
This notion is, as everybody knows, the one that is an indisputable definition. You can find it consulting Mathworld, a site from it you could learn more in this matter.
