HELP ME, PLS!! - Error analysis question

Dears,
I am making a precise irraidation to target with expected dose Q, using a irradiator. There are several error factors affecting the real dosage:
indepemndently,
For factor-1, it will cuase error S1, and the real dose will be Q+ S1
For factor-2, it will cause error S2 ,and the real dose will be Q+ S2
....................
For factor-n, it will cause error Sn,and the real dose will be Q+ Sn
Note:S1,S2....Sn are all random variables with specific distributions, which are decieded by different mechanisms.
Question:
FOR the real dosage Q that is affected simultaneously by all the n factors, how to decide and calculate the relationship between the real dose Q (or total
error S) and the independent error contribution of S1,S2,...Sn ?
Is the direct algebraic sum right ? i.e., S=S1+S2+S3+.....Sn
Or there should be some other more strict calculation for the fianl Q
and S ?
I am being driven crazy by this, anybody help me ? Thanks so much.
.
