Hi All,I guess this is a good point to explain the rules about doing homework on sci.stat.math. Basically, we're not here to do your homework for you: you're assigned it so that you will do it yourself, and learn from the experience.
Request you to provide me answer to the following question relevant to
Confidence Interval.
For sigma (Standard deviation) = 15, what sample size is required to
specify 99% confidence interval of ±5 units for mean?
Please solve this problem.
On the other hand, if you can demonstrate that you've made a serious attempt at it, then we'll give hints, and make suggestions. I think the ideal case is where a student says "I did x and y, got to this point, but can't work out what to do next. I think I should try z, but can't see how/why." It helps us focus on what the student doesn't understand, which helps them learn too.
