Now, now, Luisa, calm thy rage.
All this time I thought you knew what you were doing, and I was mistaken.
This is a useful result that you have provided. Today is a Red Letter Day!
Critical values obtained for 10^7 samples, size N=10000
___significance level_____critical value____chi-square
_______1%___________9.3128_________9.21034__
_______5%___________5.9857_________5.99146__
______10%___________4.5888_________4.60517__
Only someone who doesn't know what he's doing would not first try to find the N for which the asymptotic result obtains. I assumed that you had done so and simply weren't reporting it because it was incorrect.
See what you can do when you follow the direction of a real statistician? Don't you feel proud of yourself, after all these years, to have finally done something useful on this newsgroup?
Of course, even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
John
