Need Interpretation. How would you fully interpret this chart?
This chart is useless.
Women stay due to lack of economic resources:
Male Female Total
Strongly disagree 10 3 13
Disagree 40 8 48
Somewhat disagree 108 18 126
No opinion 4 1 5
Somewhat agree 33 7 40
Agree 53 3 56
Strongly agree 11 3 14
Total 259 43 302
Assuming that you are actually studying domestic violence,
opinions about it are irrelevant; what you want is some
actual evidence of the relation of economic circumstances
and domestic violence, not people's opinions about the relation.
Granted, opinions are much easier to come by.
Chi-Square Tests Value df Asymp. Sig. (2-sided)
Pearson Chi-Square 5.758a 6 .451
Likelihood Ratio 6.502 6 .369
Linear-by-Linear 1.323 1 .250
N of Valid Cases 302
4 cells (28.6%) have expected count less than 5.
The minimum expected count is .71.
All of this cookbook number crunching is worse than useless.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Best of luck on your studies.
Good comment.
Even among subjective questions, the above seems poor.
Anyone sensible would have to agree, strongly, that at
least a FEW women put up with domestic violence
because of "economic circumstances", for at least a little time.
Psychometric theory usually advises that questions have
a simple and direct interpretation. It is hard to guess how
many dimensions that question might tap.
Perhaps the above might be a subtle way to ask,
"Do you personally 'identify' with that sort of problem?"
