Normally I would not defend Afonso, but this is getting out of hand
and wasting enormous quantities of bandwidth.
1) You are wilfully misinterpreting what he meant. It is true that
each sample generates a confidence interval (after all, it is the
ensemble of these intervals that defines the confidence level), even
though the interval itself concerns a parameter.
2) He is correct that one can use sampling in the way that he suggests
to perform tests.
