Histograms using data with errors

Hi all,
This might be like a silly question but I wonder if anyone has ever
tried to create a histogram out of data that contains an uncertainty,
say, out of a a series of X values each with std. errors +-dX How
does the error in the x variable which is to be binned affect the
levels of the histogram? In other words, what are the error bars for
the histogram levels..?
Thank you
.
