Relative risk, semantics

Hi,
I have a simple question that I have not been able to resolve.
I am doing a post hoc analysis of a RCT looking at subpopuklations
(defined by thresholds on two covariates) and the treatment effect in
these subsets. The overall idea is to identify tendencies for a
treatment response for certain choices of covarite thresholds. Ok,
this is not so important to my main question:
I'd like to express treatment effect as a "Relative Risk" due to the
intuitive interpretation of this measure. However, I'd like to express
the relative probability for benefit and I am therefore not keen on
using the term relative risk with the negative connotation this may
have. The readership are statistical laymen (like myself) and will
probably not be able to abstract from this.
Is there a better, accepted word than relative risk? Relative
benefit? Relative probability.
A reference would be great.
Second question: If anyone has any refs. regarding subset posthoc
analysis that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Soren
.
