Data Test

Hello All,
I am not a statitician and seek your advise. I have internal sales
data. And I have a vendor who is also supplying me sales data through
their audit. I would like to know what sort of "a couple of simple
"statistical methods do I use to compare both the dataset just to
prove that the external vendor' is giving good data.
Example: sales for the last year - monthwise- around 12 data points
and I have the numbers through internal records too. My objective is
not match exact numbers since its evident it would not match, but to
statistically prove that the numbers they are providing is good buy.
And would get better once I give them guidance.
Any ideas.
Many thanks
Saurabh
