Hi,

There is something I dont understand here. Why should it be a difference
cause you have a two or one sided alterna tive? I fully understand how to
make one sided and how to make a two sided test,  but I do not understand
your point. Can you actually explain why there is a differnce in principle?

Johan,
Please be advised/ warned  that Luis Afonso is intentionally
dis-regarded by most of the regular posters, most of the time.
This is an improvement for the sci.stat.*  groups, over a
previous history of frequent, nasty exchanges.

Luis  is not expert at statistics, and he reacts to correction with
displays of temper and abuse.

We do try to prevent him from confusing or misleading newcomers,
either from poor use of English, or from poor use of statistics.

So, you might learn something from his posts, or not, but please
keep in mind that most other posters here are more expert.

As usual R. Ulrich did provde anything in substance to what is posted.
Be aware : he is unable (he admited long ago) to interpret whatever
he read in text -books (he THINKS THAT HE LEARNS this way!).
So, think by youself if you do not wish finish your life like Rich
Ulrich.
