Polyvar Microscope with Varimet measuring system

Hi,
I recently got a used Polyvar Microscope fitted with a Varimet
measuring system. It works, but the readings don't correspond with my
sample. Does anybody has some experience using this measuring system?
In particular calibration and setting up?
