Markus, there's one place, and one place only for a diffusion filter,
and that's just behind the lamp. That's a general recomendation,
otherwise the field iris from a proper kohler lamp is unusable. I
agree however that any kohler lamp only in theory will give a complete
homogenous field over the whole magnification range.
