Back in December 2002 I posted an inquiry on how to put a digital
camera on an M400. The current M420 has a 37mm (older 38 mm)
photoport. The M400 had a strange 50mm photoport designed to only fit
a Wild 4x5 of 35mm camera, and a built in light sensor and shutter.

Recently I discovered that McBain Instruments in Chatsworth,
California had done this conversion before(their S-2166 kit) and I
just sent the scope to them and had them do it. They removed the
shutter and installed a black anodized 38 mm aluminum photo tube. I
also got a Diagnostic Instruments PA1-35A T-mount coupler for a 35mm
camera.

Now I have an almost perfectly parfocal camera port!
