Hi all,
just asking opinions on what to do next with my new toy!!
..just purchased a microscope on Ebay;
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=6154015410&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT
It seems OK. I've cleaned it up , taken a few sticky gears apart &
cleaned them with 70% ethanol, then wiped it/them down with "vapours"
of this "Launa oil"{..a very light & terribly expensive oil we used
to use in copier scanner mechanisms}.
It has a 10x eyepiece, the objectives are ; a Leitz Wetzlar A= 0.65/
45:1, another Leitz Wetzlar A= 0.25/10:1, and finally a Kyowa 4 /
0.10 .
It doesn't have a mirror { mirror is missing} but up above where the
mirror should be is a diaphragm / lense assembly with a moveable ( up
/down) stage& swing out {filter holder}??
I REALLY want to get into microscopy.
Just wondering where to go now..
Wants: { & wondering where to get reliable stuff}
-a light source ( mirror? or should I get/make an incandescent or LED
source??) Dark field illumination?? :-)
- a 100x objective ( oil? ) ...I would like to see
blood/sperm/spores/the dog's slimy water dish slime
- a 60x objective
I have 2 centrifuges..already built one ( Scientific American kitchen
centrifuge..& blew up a few tubes!!), & restored an old IEC 50 ml
monster.
..constructed a hand microtome..out of glass, steel & epoxy..
Ideas? opinions? or should I just go away ..
Thanks in advance :) & my apologies if I'm terribly annoying
