I forgot to say that with a short FL of the objective you will obtain
a greather magnification than with a long FL.
With 8 X binoculars and an objective of 200 mm of FL, you will obtain
10 X and the distance of the objective from the sample will be the FL,
then 200 mm.
If you use a compact porro prism binoculars, you could obtain a
stereoscopic microscope.
