Your idea probably won't work. You have to carefully dissasemble the
objective and put each lens element in order. Then clean off the objective
and carefully reassemble the objective.
There's not a thing simple about this process, there are 16-18 elements in
that plan apo. Its simple to write about but you have to be ever so
carefull. Since you're an amatuer ...you just have to be carefull. Oh and
have the right tools. Some of them you'll have to make.
