Bill
Got myself a small halogen lamp like used in a kitchen and did some
more experimentation. Believe you were spot on. When the light is put
in the hole you can see the relief in embossed objects such as a coin
better than just shining the light on the object from an angle. With
flat objects like a postage stamp I did not get the same result.
Thanks very much for your help.
Can anyone advise what the model # etc of this unit might be? I assume
it was used more before the advent of ring illuminators that seem the
go today.
Regards
Ted
