Knowing the difficulties people have in finding the right relay lens
for their smaller sized image sensors, which are currently sold in
lower cost DSLR's (US$600 to US$2000), the Canon 5D appears to be a
move into the right direction. It has a full frame sensor, 13 MPixels
and "will" sell in the US for "just" around $3500. Extrapolating from
this, we might see a sub $2000 model in late 2006 that has a full-sized
image sensor (35mm format).

PS: Since the Canon 5D hasn't yet officially been announced, some
specifications might change until Canon's official word, which is
expected on August 22.
