You need:
1) immersion oil or water
2) optional: methylene blue
Preparation:
1) move mold with needle on microscope slide
2) add water or immersion oil (try water first)
3) Instead of #2, you could also add methylene blue and water (2:1 dilution)
4) examine at low magnification first and try to identify the spores
