Just a few points. The Wild is one of the best instruments for a lot of
uses ever made by the hand of man. If you get it a great price, wonderfull.
Just remember if you want another piece, its expensive. The Olympus SZ-III
TR is a solid, dependable instrument but doesn't perform like the Wild. The
rest are junk with the Meiji being the best of the litter.
I make my living in the microscope business but I think your comment about
prices is right. The difficulty is that
there are tons of things you can add on a high end 'scope. For a stereo
there's fluorescence, remote control and different types of illuminators.
What would be good is advertize the price of the lower line instruments,
like ones sold primarily to doctors, hospitals and undergraduate schools. I
have had so many calls that were answered with the same number of dollars
answer. The problem is that this is low on manufacturers list of things to
do. Most microcopes are for the semi-conductor industry or are biological
confocals.
