here is a reasonable stereo zoom on ebay. It has base, objective,
eyepieces and Fostec halogen illuminator.

Fostec is very good. I use their DCE units with the same ring light
and bifurcated bundle shown in the pix. The C-mount camera port would
allow use of prosumer digicams or dedicated microscope digicam.
I had an SZ-4045 as my first stereo and liked it. However, after
using it for awhile, the limits of stereo became clear. Illumination
is a constant problem. DOF and WD are opposite trade offs, and
regular camera systems did not work with stereo well at all--one needs
spot metering.
The other problem is that the resolution of the system was not what I
needed. I recall it being something like 200-300 lpi. So I moved to
SZH-10 and PlanAPO objectives. That moved it up to about 500 lpi. My
current SZH-10 is 800 lpi. The SZH-10 and SZX add an adjustable iris
to increase DOF (at the expense of illumination). A 30 second
exposure is not unusual. It's also important that the light source(s)
be color corrected for daylight. The Fostec units allow this very
easily.
If you have a macro system for your Canon, what do you want to do with
the stereo zoom?
