Re: Zeiss objectives - which oculars

You might try and complete your Leitz 170mm series, I suspect they will
work very well on your zetopan. You could even try and get Leitz
eyepieces with it. Now carefull, if you go through all that trouble,
get Leitz 160mm eyepieces; the choice of eyepieces is in this case
determined by the STAND (160mm zetopan), not by the leitz objectives!!
I can vouch for the Leitz 170mm series, very good lenses. I doubt
however if you would be able to find such low mags as 1.25, also of
course consider the illumination problems.
Problems with compatibility, if any, are to be expected with high dry's
like a 40/0.95apo, oil immersions however are far less affected! High
dry's generally have a correction collar to correct for these
deviations so probably you are ok....

BTW, I have tried infinity Zeiss stuff (10/0.3 and 40/0.75) on a 160mm
leitz stand (with leitz eyepieces) and that worked ok if you're not
going for extremely critical stuff. Whether other brands of infinity
lenses work is trial and error.
