#1) Canon 350D, 5D, 20D and Nikon D200, D2H, D2X all have true MLU.
Regarding "shutter shake", the Nikon F3 is the only one I know of that can
qualify for being used for photomicrography with its own shutter (no
external shutter) (when used without a speedlight, of course). But the F3
isn't digital. The D70 and 350D are rather awful. I do not expect the others
to be any better regarding this.
#2) I prefer CCD due to the fact that my D70 syncs at 1/500 with a
speedlight (e.g. SB-800) and because a standard CCD based DSLR can do IR and
visual with the same configuration. BTW, the "CMOS vs. CCD wars" are raging
at rec.photo.digital. Most people here use CCDs with or without Peltier
cooling to achieve the best low noise performance.
#3) As you know, MLU will not save the day. There is considerable vibration
coming from the shutter curtain of a DSLR. Leaf shutters are preferred. With
a DSLR and without flash, you almost always need to use an external shutter.
Avoid 1/30 to 1 sec exposures and use a very stable mount. Control the
camera via PC if possible and follow the book of J.G. Delly "Photography
through the microscope" or any other good book about photomicrography.
